Water and One
Can it be Tuesday already? If any of you are new to the Weekly Word Challenge, this is a photography game in which Tink challenges her fellow bloggers to come up with pictorial responses to two words each week. The words this week are Water and One.
Water seems especially important when you live in a desert, like Chatty does. So, she always wants to have plenty available:

In Arizona, like many hot and sunny climes, water is not just important for drinking, either. Here's a popular way to use it - and one Chatty will be taking advantage of by this weekend, when the temperatures hit 100:

That's our house guest Toot circling the pool. She's interested, but so far has not taken the plunge.
Chatty has lived quite a few places, one of which was Arlington, Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. Chatty used to love to visit this monument to one of our history's "great ones" - and, it seems to her it looks a lot like a one. So here is the one, mirrored in the water of the Reflecting Pool on the Mall between The Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument:

Here's one rose - and even one rose needs lots of water:

Chatty also lived in Los Angeles, and was in the motion picture industry for many years. This one was a common sight:

And, as long as Tink is kind enough to give us single digits to play with, Chatty can use the number one from the exhibit she showed you last week:

Chatty would like to leave you with the lyrics of her favorite song from “West Side Story”:

One Hand, One Heart*
TONY (Sings)
“Make of our hands one hand,
Make of our hearts one heart,
Make of our vows one last vow:
Only death will part us now.
MARIA
Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.
BOTH
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart;
Even death won't part us now.
Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart,
Even death won't part us now.”

The shot of the Washington Monument is awesome! I'm envious of your pool too. Although not cleaning it. We had a pool once, a long time ago. It was mostly home to frogs and snakes and less to people.

Oh, the white rose is so beautiful. Water is so important to us and we take it so for granted. I love you Washington monument picture. I hope one day to visit DC.
