Highs (and lows) from Arizona...

This week Tink gave us the words "high" and "low" to work with for the Weekly Word Challenge.

After a record-breaking high of 116 degrees a few days ago, when Chatty went to check the temperature, this is all she could come up with for a HIGH:

However, when it came to LOW, Chatty hit the jackpot...

This is August in Arizona - welcome to Chatty's world!

While she was out in back checking the temperature, she noticed that these King Palms definitely qualify when it comes to "high"...

And here's a similar view, but down LOW, if you look at it correctly...

OK. You've probably guessed that is NOT the moon. It is the pool drain...so LOW that it's all the way at the bottom - 9 feet down. Chatty just turned the picture 180 degrees...

And, although it's a brisk 96 degrees outside now at midnight, the pool looks inviting,

so Chatty is going to risk frost-bite and go for a dip.

Here's hoping you have lots of highs this week, and no lows you can't handle...

This is your Arizona correspondent, signing off.

So tricky you are! Is that a result of the heat? Good grief, 116 degrees!! I don't do so well with heat. Your pool looks inviting.

    Pfft. 108 degrees is nothing.

That pool looks awesome. Can I come over? I'll bring the mixed drinks.

Very clever with the reflection. Well done, bummer about the heat, but I bet that pool is inviting! Have a swim or soak for me!

But it's dry heat! That is just... a lot hot! Love the photos, especially the reflection in the pool.

So, if it took me 4 days by car to get to Tucson, it should only take me a month or so on my bike right? Keep one cold for me! Oh, darn, forgot the mountains...I might be there for Thanksgiving.

    Reb...

Oh, yeah - it's a dry heat, all right - except in Monsoon season - which is what we're having now...*sigh*

But, your place at our Thanksgiving table is secure - and be sure to bring your kitty! All are welcome!

Gee, I thought it was bad when I was doing grocery shopping today in 90-degree heat (during the day!). Got the whole house fan on now to cut down on the A/C cost. Works in CA at least.

Love those palm trees! and the thermometer photos are surreal! I remember traveling through AZ in August, it was 117 and my truck had no A/C...we decided to drive only at night, and even at that, it was still H.O.T.! But beautiful.
hey, my WWC is finally up, come see!
