Collect and Scatter
This week Tink's Weekly Word Challenge asked us to play with "collect" and "scatter".
Chatty has a fine example of collect. During a brief but violent thunderstorm with driving rain and gale-force winds (more about this in another post), all of the leaves that had been hurled into the pool by rain and wind collected in the shallow end - presumably because there is safety in numbers (it was raining and blowing very hard when Chatty took this picture!):

Happily, once the storm had passed (and The Wiz had done his all to clean the pool), the remaining leaves were few and scattered:

Chatty spends a lot of time beading, and she has to keep everything organized - so when she chooses the beads she will be working with, they start out collected in neat little boxes and tubes:

But to begin work, she must scatter them for easy pick-up with her needle:

Chatty is feeling a bit scattered now herself, because she hasn't decided what to make for dinner. So, she's off to collect her thoughts...and some groceries...
Later, alligators!

There's something really spectacular about the photo of the scattered beads. It's like different peoples comming together. You get a sense they are all moving to the center.

Winston - thanks for noticing - I WAS going for an "Olympic" theme with the colors...and the beads work as people coming together from all over the world. Problem was, I couldn't find my green beads, and had to use white - so it was particularly observant of you to make the connection anyway!

Great photos Chatty! I was going to do beads as well (I am not as dedicated as you) but that would have meant picking them up again.

Hi Reb! Thanks for the kind words about the "M" cab - it's going to be very pretty, I think.
And, haven't you got yourself a handy-dandy "triangle" to pick up the beads? It's a MUST, I've found, especially for the smaller beads! Takes no time at all to scoop those things up...

Such tiny beads! I love the colors, and you really have an eye for composition.
I thought of rocks and shells, but I totally forgot about my beads. Mine aren't anywhere near as tiny but they are colorful!

The leaves NEVER STOP! Ahhhh!
Nice job as always. Beads would drive me nuts, I dont thing I have the patience or coordination to do it.

Those beads are so tiny! How in the world do you handle them? Great use of the words. As usual, I'm jealous of your inviting looking pool.
