Locks of Love, Part 2: or, when Chatty finally got her hair cut...

A few months ago, some of you may remember that Chatty went to get her hair cut, but didn't - because her hair was not QUITE long enough to donate to the organization Locks of Love, which makes wigs for children suffering from hair loss. So, she decided to wait.

She kept growing it through the summer, and last week decided that by ANY calculation, her hair at last was long enough - so she made the appointment.

Chatty has thin, fine hair. But, ANY hair is useful to a young person with none, so...

Here's Chatty's hair - thin and fine, to be sure, but  definitely LONG:

Chatty headed over to the salon, and her cousin whipped out the scissors:

Chatty's cousin has assured her that, pathetic little pig tail though this is, it will be useful:

Chatty is now trying to get accustomed to the fact that she can no longer just pull her hair back into a ponytail - she is going to have to STYLE it.  This could be tricky, because Chatty has never been able to manage a brush and a hair dryer at the same time - heck, she usually needs both hands just to hold a camera:

    But, so far, so good:

Chatty is pleased with her new look (at least as of this post - she hasn't had to wash and style it from scratch yet), but The Wiz still isn't sure. It's a big change, after all. He thinks it's "kinda cute", but...only time will tell.

However, Chatty is definitely glad she did it!

YAY! I remember I had just started reading you when you attempted the hair cut but decided to wait! Geeze, that was a lot of waiting because that hair was might long.

The new cut looks totally cute on you though. And, probably, quite simple to style. I wish I looked good with short hair -- I'd love to wear it like that!

Sorry I haven't been to your place in awhile. I haven't been able to keep up with my reading of everyone, and then [I've added several new blogs to my list] I stay so busy otherwise....

Though, I openly stalk Harry. And, Gary.

    I'll keep up better. Promise.

Happy Monday!!!!! [Some child will be thrilled!]

I came back since I had time this morning to check out the haircut. I think it is very flattering! Makes Chatty look quite lovely! My hair was recently cut again too, and a little too short for my taste. however, it grows fast. I didn't get to do the locks of love thing this time... I think it's wonderful though!
