Shampoo
Much excitement today, chez Chatty and The Wiz. Chatty's "adopted mom" is arriving from California today for a few days, and naturally, Chatty is going overboard with the cleaning. It isn't as if AM is the critical type, or that she plans on giving Chatty's place the "white-glove" test - no, it's that Chatty hates cleaning with a passion, and having a guest is one of her FEW motivators.
Yesterday, she and The Wiz shampooed the living room carpet. Today, poor Toot is on the block, shampoo-wise. She REALLY needs a bath. Poor itchy little Cleo needs one even more, but we can't because of the bandages. Oh well - soon!
Chatty also plans to wash the big windows in the kitchen -
they need it, as you can see (although, to be fair, MOST of the dirt is on the bottles - they have been sitting outside since August, and our backyard is nothing if not dusty - it makes pool maintenance a real trial for The WIz, let Chatty assure you)!
And, she has to make up the guest bed, and wrap the Christmas presents for AM. We may exchange them early so we can be together when we open them. Chatty wants to be prepared. The Wiz, bless him, is going to do the kitchen and family room floors. Chatty had to foresight to realize that the kitchen floor should be cleaned AFTER Toot is bathed in the kitchen sink. She tends to spread the water around quite a bit. Chatty is reminded of the comment made by Franklin P. Jones: "Anybody who doesn't know what soap tastes like never washed a dog."
Chatty definitely knows what soap tastes like! And now, she's off to injest a bit more...
In a while, crocodiles!

Can you wash Cleo up a bit and just avoid her bandages? (Obviously, I've never washed a dog.) I know what soap tastes like because I had my mouth washed out with it a few times as a kid. The one time I did this to my own kids? I tasted it again, to prove I wasn't killing them.
Chatty, you & I are alike when it comes to massive cleaning. And I failed to mention yesterday, I wish I could come and help you drink all of that homemade wine!

I understand what your doing. We just finished cleaning the study because my grand kids are coming tomorrow.

I hate cleaning too... and company is one of my motivators, though now that it's vitually impossible, I have chosen to let people love me for myself... or at least I'm not quite so insane about it.
Have fun with company.

My oh my, unlike many commentors, I got to see Chatty's adopted mom, what a miracle of a mom. But, better yet was "THE BRISKET" Chatty prepared for all the two legged animals at her dinner party. Cleo and Toot and the other guest four legger, Juliette, filled me in on ways to manipulate the two legged animals into giving us part of "THE BRISKET". YUM, let me say that again, YUM. Best Brisket I've ever had. AND thank you Cleo and Toot for sharing your expertise in food sharing technology. Mostly Thank you Chatty for "THE BRISKET" and permitting me time to learn from Cleo and Toot.
