CONGRATULATIONS to The Steelers!!!!! What a game! That last drive was one for the history books! 

    John Madden described the game as “The way NFL football should be played.” And other pundits are slinging around phrases like “one of the best (possibly THE best) games in Superbowl history”…AND, the numbers are out, and it is the 2^nd most watched Superbowl in history – only behind last year’s game (which was played at the gorgeous stadium in Glendale, AZ, which Chatty feels compelled to mention in the name of love and support for her new home ...)!

    Please allow Chatty to point out that you can’t have one of the best Superbowls in history without BOTH teams playing their hearts out to make it a white-knuckler for both sides. Chatty is SO proud of the Cardinals - and boy, it was close! 

    The Wiz says that if we had bet on the Cardinals, we would have won, because they “beat the spread”-  whatever that means. Chatty's limited understanding leads her to believe that this had something to do with the "spread" being 7 points and the Steelers winning by 4. So, that’s cool! It’s not like the Cards allowed the Steelers a walk-over – it was a VERY exciting game!

    Can you imagine what it will be like tomorrow to be in Pittsburgh for the parade???

    And, another lovely thing – even MORE people showed up at Sky Harbor airport today to welcome the Cardinals HOME than showed up to send them off to Tampa - we're talking more than 1000 fans there to send them off to Tampa, and MANY MORE than 1000 there to greet them at their homecoming - which meant a trip to the airport by tons of fans for no other reason than to wave signs and cheer for the home team! Let's face it, Chatty adores The Cardinals (duh!), and Chatty was rooting for them...but she didn't make it to the airport either time...because she didn't even know when they were leaving, or when they were coming back...but many, many people took the time to find out, and, unlike Chatty, they SHOWED UP. Chatty thinks that is SO cool – and bodes well for The Cards finally having a supportive fan base from the very first pre-season game this August. She hopes so, anyway. Chatty thinks Arizonans should be as enthusiastic about the Cardinals as they are about the Suns - because we are darned lucky to have an NFL team in our state (much less almost in our back yard here in Glendale).  Chatty well remembers how lousy it is NOT to have a "home team", having lived in LA for many team-less years! 

    Chatty is kicking herself for not making the effort to be there to welcome The Cardinals home.

    So...

    Did you all get your 3D glasses out to watch the much-vaunted commercial before halftime? We did! Happily, Chatty was taking the picture...
    
          

    That's The Wiz's sister in the middle and Book Girl on the right. His sister drove all the way from Ventura, CA for the big event!

    AND Chatty finished both the Cardinals AND the Steelers bracelets. Chatty is quite pleased with the Steelers bracelet. She was able to make it thinner, as she didn’t need to have the added width (4 extra beads) to form legible letters like she did for beading the word “Cards”. 

    Chatty is getting the hang of this whole loom beading thing…

    Chatty is not quite happy with the way one side of the clasp worked out, so she will be keeping this bracelet to wear herself, and will make a better one for Steeler Girl ...

    Once again, CONGRATULATIONS to The Steelers, and GO CARDINALS! We are looking forward to next year already! 

    And, we have one final game to enjoy.  This year's Pro Bowl is definitely a MUST WATCH! 
    
    Chatty is already planning a new menu, because The Wiz has pointed out that having an actual "meal" during a football game is a bad idea, and he's right. 

    So, from now on - artery-clogging. cholesterol-laden snacks and libations only...

    UPDATE:

    Chatty has just heard that the odds-makers in Vegas (and we all know how accurate THEY are) have, in their wisdom, decided that The Cardinals are now 30 to 1 to win next year's Superbowl. HA! That game was CLOSE!

    Even worse, they are picking The Patriots to win next year. HA! AGAIN! Were they NOT WATCHING the game? The Steelers should be the Number 1 pick! 

    Chatty thinks that everyone (even the odds-makers) should wait AT LEAST until next season has STARTED to decide who will be doing what when it comes to football!

    But hey - if anyone out there wants to give Chatty odds of 30 to 1 against The Cardinals winning Superbowl XLIV...she'll take that bet!

    Be warned - Chatty doesn't bet big amounts...but five bucks, and you're on!

    And, if you want to bet against The Steelers - she'll take THAT bet, too.

    Chatt is SO conflicted - she loves both of these teams - for her, it was ALMOST a win/win situation. Not quite. But almost!
